Prawns open in Stuart Channel..

So I head down to the Chemainus boat launch to take a quick look after work. Thinking I might catch a few hours out on the water this afternoon. 20+ trailers all around Kin Park and a line up 5 boats deep to use the launch. Holy crap!! Look out prawns!! You had your 3 months off and now we're coming for ya.

On my short drive(10 min)north to work from Ladysmith this morning I saw 4 boats loaded with traps driving south on the highway. I forgot it was April 1.

Croftons launch was a gong show , the whole parking lot full and over 20 parked on the surrounding roads in front of the 2hrs only signs ,guess who is going to start receiving tickets folks ?

Prawning was hot and so was the weather in the morning.

Yeah it's a gong show at Crofton launch AND out on the water. Lots of prawns tho.
