New vs Old Scotty Downriggers

I still run my old 2 belters that i bought in 1991. Talk about getting your money's worth!

I take them down to the Scotty factory every 2 years for an upgrade.......new motors this year!!

Still running the two belts. Changed out the pulleys when I went to braid but am curious as to the brake upgrade. Was it a switch to 1106 parts or...

I had the old red brake handles and the lids with the red Scotty logo. Took them in one day and they came back with new brake upgrade, new spools as my were cracked. Bought a set of new pulleys and new lids. They looked very modern and new but were actually 20 years old.

My 2 belts are virgins. Old style pulley and original brake. Never had a issue but I know the pulley will cost me some lead some day
