I'm overnighting in Campbell river in July on the way to Esperanza. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel that I don't have to worry about the boat being parked there.

Hotels- no, they are all in the downtown area and no secure parking. Motels, perhaps, but anywhere you go there is always the chance of something being stolen. There are several motels along the highway, where you could park your rig in front of your door. It may be expedient to invest in a small motion alarm. I use a baggage alarm called a Voltage Valet, if anyone jossels the boat a 110 decibel alarm goes off. I have not seen it for sale for a while but there must be something similar out there.
