Navionics Platinum Charts

Does anyone have any advice whether it's worth upgrading a Navionics Gold chart to the new Platinum charts? The 3D charts look amazing on the website.

Is there much difference between the Platinum and Platinum Plus?

Navionics states that the platinum plus charts have:
- higher resolution photos and satelite pics
- more detailed contour info and 3d maps
- more road and harbour database info

I have the regular (non-plus)) platinum charts and am very happy with them. I say if you have the $ go for it, if not go with the non-plus platinum charts. Check out their website for more info.

Thanks for your advice Whole in the Water! I just ordered the Platinum + card. Since my wallet is already on fire from the HDS unit, what's another $300 - $400? (Just don't let my wife know)

I look at it this way, it's like buying an HD TV without an HD cable box!

A buddy downloaded a Navionics chart of BC for his iPhone. It looked quite amazing on the small screen, and yes it has a built in GPS. You can defiantly use it for fishing. He said he paid 10 bucks for it. The kicker might be you pay about 800 bucks a year for the cell phone with Rodgers. Makes the new hd stuff look cheap after a few years.
