nanaimo area

I don't think there's much of anything happening on the inside.... Seems like everything is late this year (at least, I hope it's late)

I watch the water temps at Halibut Bank, and the water is still really warm. Finally starting to come down a bit though....

thanks pablo, i was thinking about fishing around the 5 fingers area. Does anyone know when the best time of the year is to fish this area? Or is it a waste of time to even try around there?

Thanks

I used to fish that area a lot.

The fingers over to Neck Point and back. We used to start fishing in late May and would fish right on through to September, catching our fair share of springs.

When the seals started taking my fish consistently, and I mean 5 fish on and 5 fish gone, I quit.

I have only fished 3 or 4 times in the Nanaimo area in the last 5 years and then I go about 5 miles out to avoid the seals.

I guess what I'm saying is that the whole summer used to be good around that area, and perhaps still is. I just don't fish there anymore so can't say.

Please post if you go out.

Thanks
