loading this site

It seems much slower. I am also having problems opening the thumbnails .jpg. Is this a site problem or a problem with my desk top?

I have also noticed the pages have been loading considerably slower sometimes. Some thumbnail pictures do not load, but I mostly find that on older archived pages. There is definitely starting to be some issues. If it was the middle of the summer you'd chalk it up to heavy traffic volume on the site. I can't see heavy traffic creating the issues at this time of year. Hopefully it doesn't get worse, and they can work on fixing it.
