The past several nights there have been 2 commercial fishing boats working the mouth of the Little Qualicum river, they start about 8 pm and continue through until 1 am, they are running around in smaller boats as we can hear the outboards running. Anybody have an idea what they are fishing for.They are not using a purse seine as they are traveling in straight lines at a fair pace. I am thinking they are trawling for krill as there have also been a fair amount of Humback activity out front as well. Just wanted some opinions. I have checked DFO's notices but nothing mentioned.
