Kicker question

I have an opportunity to aquire a 2006 Mercury 9.9 Pro Kicker XL with next to no hours but has been sitting for 5 years. It belongs to a family member so price is not an issue but I wonder if its too much motor for my podded 19.5 Glasply. I measured 27" on the shaft length. Any feedback from experience good and bad would be really appreciated. Here's a picture of said motor and my pod.....

That will work great the weight of a 9.9 vs say a 8hp is like a couple pounds. I think you will be really happy with it. If it's been sitting you may need to clean the carbs change engine and leg oil and go fishing. The high thrust kickers are far better you will have more power and control of your boat

Also the extra depth will give you better traction on those windy days. I use a XL shaft on my 19' runabout.

I had the same motor on my 17ft Double eagle ant the boat handled it fine. Go for it i think you will be very happy.
