is this a kelt or ??

Nice fish!

Tough call on that one do to the angle of the pic. From what I can see I would call it a freshy. Depends on the system as well. Some rivers get a later run where chrome fish around now are not uncommon.

Even with that angle I would say yes that is a Kelt. A dam fine looking fish but yes I think a kelt. Look how small and tight the belly is, hard to think there is any eggs left in there. I am not trying to take anything away from you and your catch. Healthy does mend up nice and quick. Congrats.. Also look how far the vent is out I wouldn't think a fresh fish would be that enlarged.

could be a doe, or a second returning fish (usually skinny) but its tough to tell from that angle. if there is eggs in there you will feel them though...next time take off the gloves though!!!

i think your fish fits in the middle.....but like EE said...take off the glove..the fish dont like them gloves..

It is for sure a mending winter run kelt they chrome up after they spawn after there quick dash from the salt !! if they hold longer they are worse for wear !!!!!like the poor summer get!!!!

That's a tough one. Was there any wear on the base of the tail fin? Usually thats a good indication. It gets red or worn a bit from diggin. It's anal fin looks pretty nice. Their spouts protrude a lot even when they still have eggs in them.Hey steelhead was that a Harris chromer?

well lots of people were complainin about how slow the stamp was....when they were sayn it was slow and blah blah i pulled off a double didgets in hour n half lol<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> i like quadropled my numbers from lastyear and was out less then lastyear...maybe the same amount....can i see myself being a guide lol yes i can<img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>
