How would one go about certifying a homemade boat.
Transport Canada, Coast Guard, etc
Anyone tried that?

If it's not for charters or commercial use, you waltz on down to Service Canada with some pictures, they give you an oath to swear, and some BC numbers.

When i did mine i went to sevice canada with pics and they gave me papers for a declaration of oath which has to be notorized and thats it,Just as easy as lastchance stated.

Yep, so rope some old fuel drums together, put a sail on it, and call it a boat.

Are the decks finished, and are teh tanks in? Welded, or "s-locked" seams? 3/16" hull, or 1/4" ?
