Golden Spring?

Afternoon All,

I saw this on the front page of the local news paper from yesterday. Whats everyones take on it? Seems to be a spawning colour variation to me.

What do you think? Have you ever seen one?

Looks like it's just starting to color up , another 2 weeks and it would have been dark.

Does any one know if it was a Red, White, or Marbled spring?

looks yellow maybe a liver problem, Iv seen chum look the same at the stave.

Caught a couple like that in nootka, defiantly in the middle of changing colour after sensing fresh water.

Caught a gold spring a couple of years ago about a 1/4 mile from Varny Bay, the mouth of the Marble River. Looks like it was gold leaf and must of been close to 50 pounds.

Not a dolly - wrong coloring and no white spots.

It is a Chinook in pre spawn colours.Some times called a "BOOT".

My son caught a copper colored spring off the coast of Haidi Gwai this August. It too was really wierd color. We caught 7 springs that day this was the only different one. The dock hands said they see a few of them a year and believed they were from an American river run (not heading into the fresh water up in Haidi). BTw, the flesh was actually marbled but mostly white.
