Funny, I ate it once about 34 years ago in Dawson City, as I recall it tasted kinda like a wet dog smells!
Must have been the way it was cooked or maybe it had been buried in the perma frost too long.

Since it was inland at Dawson City, I bet it was sled dog you ate !! They just told you it was seal LOL!!!!!

Could have been, but the guy's got it from a BIL in Tuk.
No wonder that for years after that, whenever I got drunk, I woke up with MUTTS!

Great post Dogbreath. I would like to try it someday. Nice to see positive postings below the article as well. Just folks enjoying food and not some debate about ethics etc. because the animal is supposedly cute.

The every day Dude can't keep it down,just the oldtimers seem to like it.Real good for those oil lamps though.
