fishing for...???

Has anybody had any luck with the trout on the cowichan. I'm just getting into the winter fishing and been told that the chums and ho's are done and the steelies haven't started yet...any advice for the new memeber would be appreciated...thanks.

I fished right below skutz falls and cought some really nice cutthroat
last year I'm not to sure if your aloud to fish there ? Any of the river mouths in cowichan lake should be super hot right now. I would fish the lake before the river for trout. If the river is running into bear lake I would go there. Last year cought over 20 all over 2lb

can you give me an idea of what i should be using for the cutties? i'm guessing throw some salmon roe on?
