Departure Bay area

When are the best times to be fish'n in and around that area? I think the 'fingers' are close to there ... right? Are the fingers those rock outcrops to the right just as you head out on the ferry? Do you troll close to them or anywhere in the vicinity?

I have heard there are some large snapper in that area as well ... true?

when you head out of departure bay the rocks on your right is snake Island the fingers are the ones on your left.Troll close or a ways out up to a couple of miles just watch your depth in close.

Love the snapper, but they are more concentrated northerly sunshine coast. As for the fishing, should pick up in a few weeks. I have a feeling the boom in the seal population has sent them further out and deeper the last few years....except during the big runs late June early July and end of August to september were very hot in close.
