Cowichan Guides....

While checking out the Cowichan for the upcoming opening ,...I am wondering, is there a special regulation somewhere , that while guiding or drifting on Fly Fishing areas if your exempt from the regular regs?

No exceptions as a guide while guiding.

The regs in the upper regions of the Cowichan have been like that for a long time.

Guiding fresh water is completely differant than salt. You must fill out a fair amount of paperwork and an application for guiding priviledges on certain watersheds. Once that is complete you certainly do not want to jeopardize your grant by tossing gear in restricted areas. I used to take fly gear for the upper river and have hardware for when we got below the 72 mile trestle.( REGULATION PERMITTING )
