Hey guys, we are planning a week long trip to the coast for some salmon/halibut fishing and stream/river flyfishing. What are the license requirements? I hear you need a saltwater license with salmon stamps or something? How much is that? Will my Alberta fishing license be ok for stream fishing like it is for drivers licenses? How much is a regular BC License for that type of fishing? Thanks.

Fishing in saltwater requires a tidal license, and a salmon tag.
Non-tidal ( River,lakes) requires a Non-tidal BC license.
An Alberta license is only good for Alberta.
Also, if you fish non-tidal for salmon, you will need a salmon tag separate from the tidal salmon tag. They get us federally and provincially LOL
Prices will vary with number of days fishing.
A tidal license is the same cost for Alberta or BC resident.
Non-tidal is more costly for any other province resident.
