Combining Swivel Base w/ 6" Pedestal Mount

Anybody have a picture of how this works? Does the swivel base go down first or the riser? Anything to watch out for? Is it strong? My swivels are currenlty mounted on top of my rail with some kind of crazy aluminum bracket that bends with the 18's. Not only that everything is too high and too far out. Thinking about mounting a pedestal to get the dual rod holder base to sit just over the rail. Thoughts?

On my downriggers, which are the old ones the rigger mounts to the swivel base

Pedestal then swivel the rigger. Remove whole unit when not in use. That's how I do it.
