Bullfrogs

Seriously!!! It's a GD bullfrog. I'm sure the guy did not spend any time rigging his "hero shot" to impress us with his frog catching ability. So, no pictures it didn't happen. With picture, it may have happened because it could have been photo shopped or taken from a deceptive angle. Banger 17 I'll take you up on your offer.

Eh, the photo is genuine, completely legit in my books.
Just peoples reaction to it is good for a laugh.

Dan, weren't you the one questioning its authenticity in two previous posts? LOL

I fixed your third...

"Flip-flop" said the Bullfrog.

In the article it says the guy that caught it released it...

so it's still out there.....

the horror.......the horror......

keep your pets inside at night........

Lol, good try but no, I never said or suggested the pic is fake/photo shopped/altered etc.
Nor did I question the "authenticity", it is what it is...a pic of an average size adult bull frog being held halfway between the angler and the camera. Lots of people don't know what they're looking at....sorry !
Nice try though but you might wanna read all the posts a little more carefully next time, this keeps getting funnier, thanks for keeping the laughs coming ! :D

My apologies....after re-reading, I didn't know you were laughing at the dummies that thought a Lithobates Catesbeianus gets that big. Stupid people. LOL.

any time Prawn - Alberni Valley and we can go out and meet them all if you really want...
OK thanks Banger. Next time I'm heading that way I'll give you a heads up. Maybe Dan can make a youtube video of us killing giant frogs with my .338 Win mag.

Go ahead and catch and kill every bullfrog you can guys! They are an introduced species and a SERIOUS threat to many native species.

It amazes me the guy did not know any of this and put it back. Sad that people know so little about our BC ecosystem in general.

FB...

well that makes a liar out of guy that caught it then.

First part of the article says Schut claimed it was approx. 2 feet in length and weighed 3 pounds.

However at the bottom of the article it identifies the specie and says max length 8 inches and max weight 750 grams.

So all the information including the genus name is printed in the article.

The information contradicts itself......so someone is not telling the truth.

The 8" measurement is only for the body, I am assuming the person in the photo is including the legs as well. They would add 8-10 inches so that frog was probably 1.5' long (including legs). A big frog for sure. I hope someone goes back and tries to remove it.
