Big bites on big tides

Dropped the pick yesterday mid morning as the guys really wanted some halibut. The top of the Scotchman was barely showing so I decide to drop one line to see how it would hold. It didn't, so for about 15 minutes I kept letting line out with just the one wet rod. Once it held and I reeled up a couple times we were in to the first fish in the mid 30's. Dropped the second rod as the guest was fighting the first fish and before he had it up we were in to number 2. The tide had slackened dramatically in 20 minutes. Within the next 30 minutes we had 2 more in the boat for our 4 fish limit. All the fish were between 30-40 pounds and taken on Salmon bellies and pink heads.
