Hi everyone, our first Sport Fish Advisory Committee Meeting for this fall will be held in Tahsis this coming Saturday.
These SFAC meetings are local committee meetings and local anglers, residents, etc...are encouraged to participate. SFAC meetings are local meetings that plug into the Sport Fish Advisory Board. Motions are discussed locally, and if supported get sent to the SFAB for consideration at the South Coast level, and if supported there then to a regional level. DFO then has a committment to the SFAB to respond to these motions.
If you have any local rec fishery issues that you would like to discuss for Nootka Sound, Esperenza or Kyuquot this is the place to come.
The agenda topics include: the creel survey, halibut, recap of 2011 fisheries, local derby, and potential management area changes for 2012 chinook and coho fisheries.
C&P and Fish Management staff will be there, and anyone that wants to come is encouraged to do so.
