Ahousaht occupy fish farm site....

You know what? I'll just stop posting on this thread. and many others. It's bad enough i got **** on in the shootout thread, now this.

I have live here for almost 30 years and know close to 100 Ahousats and i simply passed on what i was told by many of them regarding the population and the number of their people that earn a living directly or indirectly (working for contractors), not the counsel or the chiefs. Everyone argues what i have passed on so i am out!!

Well I appreciate your input, Fish Tofino. W/o taking sides - the likely more accurate population poll revolves around membership vis-a-vis what used to be Indian and Northern Affairs - now AANDC. Their funding revolves around keeping track of both on-reserve and off-reserve members: http://www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/eng/1357840941669/1360158893194

That ratio prob changes lots w the seasons and years...

This is what I was getting at.

Interestingly some of the original protesters don't even live there according to their Facebook pages.

Wasn't this website outed a couple of years ago as a PR firm out of Victoria?
They were hired by the fish farms to give the impression of public support.
I think the term is AstroTurf as a opposed to a grass roots organization.

I think they slipped up and had a cookie on this website that lead back to them.
Can't remember all the details but this reminded me of the story.

Yes they do have some "Truth" issues.......
Perhaps their goal is just to sow doubt. Where have we seen that one?

I don't think Birdsnest is involved at that level.
I think he's just a by-standard that's getting side swiped in all this.

I thought that website was associated w Vivian Krause. You can find her in Mike Duffy's Calendar on the evidence from his trial. Useful - apparently - to have headhunters you can send out to deflect the conversation....
