Just spool your line as normal, unless you go all the way with braid, then tie braid/dacron to the post using a uni knot.
That post is very useful as it sticks up into your spooled line & keeps the whole mess from spinning on your spool when pulling off a snag or big something.
Not the biggest deal with mono, but huge deal with braid or dacron on the arbour.
