22 foot Double Eagle Offshore Capabilities

I am considering buying an older 22' DE, it is not fancy (compared to a Sea Ray or Bayliner etc.), but given its build and despite is small size, I think it is able to head offshore (10 miles or so). Does anyone have experience with these boats or heard from others about their capabilities? I do think I would need to carry extra fuel, but I think this boat is capable.

Id much rather be caught off shore in a DE then a Sea Ray or a Baylliner

Fuel Capacity is about the only drawback I can think of -if the boat is sound!
