I forgot to mention that the last two fish I caught had empty stomachs…. Not even a half digested anchovy…. That feels concerning given the herring don’t seem to be showing up.

I found this.a stickle back maybe. It had spikes.

First fish 70cm in the new boat , Hut Island 97 feet. tried tunsall for a round ..nothing . Was great day on the water again.

Watch out fishing the mile markers, about half way between at 120' snagged some abandoned/qhost traps. Managed to circle around and get everything back but what a **** show.

Fished Tunstall this afternoon. 1 under and 1 legal hatchery we let go. Few line poppers. Couple dozen prawns for our efforts at least. Beauty day out. Better than being at the office.

Picked up two keepers and released a few unders at the bell this morning. Right on bottom in 160-170’, herring aid spoon got everything. 4” herring in the guts.

What a day yesterday some great fishing to be had in the harbour doubles to some screamers, lines in at 8 limit by 9... crabbing is picking up
some loaded traps in a few hours, i fish the harbour a lot and have never seen it like this.. they are pretty much hitting everything same winter depths... @Dorman Point nice boat saw you out there..

Two keepers today near the Bell. 100 and 140 ft on the riggers produced. Between 150 to 200 FOW.

Amazing hour at the bell today, I think they would have hit anything. Five fish to the boat, four keepers. Im exagerating, it was more like 30 minutes . We just happen to be at 120 and 150 on the riggers at 170 fow, because we gave way on the 150fow tack. hering aid and no bananas flashers and spoons. Mates first time, I was losing my mind. Like raincity " Im sorry for what I said when we were landing that fish", but in my defence he did reel the swivel into the eye until the tip broke, haha that was the first of 3 landed on that rod. I should quit because I dont think I can top this day haha but Ill try. Awesome pics Reeltime, Im a fan of your work.

was pretty hot out there today i got two chunky keepers that were 65 cm as well as 113 prawns fishing solo today

Well I sure feel dumb for ignoring my instinct to fish the Bell Thursday, looks super hot there. Fished Tunstall for the morning, I swear every time I passed another boat close up, they hit a fish. Nada for me. Tried stacking and tangles everywhere. Snapped off a rigger ball too and lost my lucky lemon lime flasher in the mix. Guess we all have those days sometimes. I will try to redeem myself next week…

Buzzed across the pond after work today for the weekend with buddy. Picked up two on our first pass and then quiet for an hour then doubled up and voila. Went 4/4 and no unders which was a pleasant surprise as buddy holding fish is just dead weight and his jokes are terrible! Green glow needlefish hooch and skinny g. Don’t think it would’ve mattered what was down there. 217/227 on riggers. Could also have been the lucky shirt I bought for buddy to wear all weekend.
