Got out for a morning fish with a couple buddies. Tried off Hudson Rock first but nothing there. Made our way to the area around Clark Rock. Lots of bait. Steady action. Ended up with 2 slot springs and a bunch of unders. Buddy lost the “3rd” keeper just before pack up.
Smallish spoons were the ticket. 90-120’ on the riggers.
Choppy seas and lots of weeds. But still a great time out there.
Guess that was before the wind kicked up?

Fished the fingers last night for about 5 hours. Released 5 or 6 unders and long line released a beauty about 25’ from the boat.

Spent the day at the dock hiding from the wind.

Picked up a hatchery coho this afternoon off Neck Point. 65 feet on a white hootchie. Seemed like all of Nanaimo decided to launch their boat today the ramp was nuts.

Out for the night bite tonight. Got a few just under the size limit but no take homes. Fishing 120-137 with small spoons.

Large schools on the sounder of what I presume are pinks 40-70 feet down in front of pipers.

I also saw about 6-7 large surface feeding Chinook on the tide lines between Piper's and Hudson rocks which was very cool. Fish were coming almost clear out of the water. Lasted about 30 seconds then they were gone. Never seen anything like that before

That’s just awesome

Went out near Entrance and off the Fingers last week and landed a couple of nice ones along with many unders. The smaller of the two had flesh that was the colour of Ketchup. Not just red, but Ketchup red. Someone said that there is a Fraser run that they call "Fraser Tomatoes". Has anyone ever heard this term?

went out early this morning for a quick one off fingers. a lot of bait and fish marked, especially in the 250-400 depth. big schools higher up in the under-100 range, I assume those were pinks? We got several undersized chinook, a bunch of dogfish (even a shark double-header!), and a rockfish. a lot of debris at brechin this morning as well.

Could these large schools of fish be sockeye on the approach for the fraser?

Went out with some buddies from work today to Entrance. Fished from 830-330 and had some good action all day. 3 keepers, one released too big 85cm, 4 shakers released and lost 4! Was an epic day and great weather. All fish were between 240-295 on the rigger with glow hoochies and flashers. Only one keeper fish had a 5” anchovy the others had empty stomachs

First time salmon fishing for my buddies and they had a blast.
Some great pics

Still productive off Hudson Rock... on one side of the boat at 60-65 feet. Other than bait, none of my gear seems to be producing any keepers at the moment. Any thoughts? Is this just getting to the time of the year for some of these fish where it's a bait show?

On Saturday I had luck with spoons. ‘Wonderbread’ and ‘trailhead’ were the spoons name. 3” size.
