Lots of boats near Fingers this afternoon. So I decided to try Neck Point and was rewarded with 3 hits within an hour. 2 undersized and a 77 cm. 250 on the downrigger in 250 of water. White hoochie, no banana flasher. 30 prawns, lunch at the Dinghy Dock Pub and a salmon dinner.
My out of province were quite impressed.
Life on the Island at its best.
Don’t always follow the crowd! Think like a fish!

Fished Thrasher yesterday for a few hours, 1 nice keeper and a lot of undersize fish. Missed a few good takes that didn't stick.
Beauty day out there.

Fished Thrasher and Entrance yesterday. Northwest started off a little sporty in the morning, but eased off in the afternoon for some nice fishing weather. Had to leave Thrasher after pulling in under after under, some smaller than the lure. Picked up one hatch Coho at Thrasher while dropping the rigger. Tripped at 45 feet. Other than that, several black rockfish, all safely returned and a few more unders, but no slot love for us.

Was there yesterday as well . Same report , way to many short fish in the mix . Gonna give that area a rest for a while.

My wife and I and a buddy and his girlfriend fished the trench this afternoon evening from around 3pm-7. We just caught the tail end of low slack and fished the flood tide. Was a nice crossing with a couple bumps with the perfect temp. Less than 5 minutes in got a nice 66cm on a chartreuse glow hoochie at 240 on the rigger and 30 minutes after that a beauty 74cm on the same setup at 220 on the rigger. Slow other than that, just two rockfish safely released with the auto descender.
We had a delicious burgers on the boat for supper then picked up and headed back for a smooth crossing. It was like glass going up the north arm back to the marina.
First time for me fishing over there with a bit of wind in the mix. Definitely lots to learn, also the auto pilot decided to have a mind of its own lol
all in all a great night.

ps how cool are the shirts my wife made us for the boat!

Never caught any black rockfish before, and so know very little about them. Did you catch them while trolling? What depth did you get them at? Thanks in advance.
