Went out at about 6am water was calm no luck until after the low tide at around 1pm. tried fishing the 200ft shelf at gower and got all tangled up and lost another cannon ball I hate braid on downriggers. they came like that so I will be switching to cable. well at 1pm lost all my teaser heads and down to one rod I trolled to salmon rock. Big take on cookies and cream spoon at 100' and I think this is close to a 25lbs spring?
Ya some guys use cable for Sockeye and dragging over the bottom, as braid can't handle the abrasion.
However you will have to change your cable regulary and when a steel jagger goes into your hand you won't like it.

Thanks for clearing that up! I see now that 29-9 and 29-10 are basically all the low lying marshy areas. Amazing how far out in the straight they go.The area where everyone is fishing is 29-3 and 29-4. The boundaries you've noted above are a lot closer in that what it appears to be on the map.
