As for rebuilt, well there are rebuilt motors and there are rebuilt motors; all depends on what was done. In my opinion a good quality rebuild will have all new pistons, rings, bored over, bearings replaced and professional machining and attention to detail. Some so called rebuilds I've seen are what I would call a "refresh" meaning that they only had a hone job and new rings. Ask to see receipts for parts and labour or assume that the motor wasn't fully rebuilt.
