1981 Double Eagle gets a second chance

Set the hight and mixed up some thickened epoxy to secure it. Will now add some fibreglass tabbing before it sets up. Also started sanding the bilge coat I put down so I have a clean area to set the rear bulkhead. The third and final bulkhead is cut and fibreglassed ready to set in place as well.

Afterwork tonight I added a center drain to the rear bulkhead. This drain is threaded so I can keep it closed off. I don’t want bilge water going back up into the middle of the boat.

Had some time to work on the boat so I filled the two through hulls. I also installed the third and final bulkhead (will get a pic later)

Questions for older Double Eagle 20’6 owners. Is the anchor locker big enough? How many feet of rope and chain does it hold. ? Thank for the help.

I finished putting down the primer the other day, unfortunately the store ran out of grey and all they had was white so it looks a bit like a dog’s breakfast right now. There will be two coats maybe three of bilge coat over that. And yes I know you will never see it so why bother but its just how I like it.

Not a lot to show this week. Just put in the rear drains, now any water in the boat can make its way back to the bilge. Including the anchor locker. I have been applying the Interlux Bilge Coat and will get a picture when thats done. With the stringers and bulkheads in place the boat feels very solid

Hey Dan, Mines a 96 let me know if you want to check it out and see if you can work with the anchor locker. Nice work so far!

It had one before I bought but it was removed as soon as I took possession. Id venture to guess as far as chain it could hold a couple hundred or so feet but I think 300 may be too much its not very deep as its right in the sharpest part of the V

Yea I think I will make it a bit larger just to be safe. Thank you for the offer to have a look though.

After a 3 day weekend in Salmon Arm I was able to come home and put in the rubber pads the fuel tank will sit on as well as start the final test fitting.
