11th annual Davey Derby July 22nd-July 24th

Tickets are now on sale for the 11th annual Davey Derby to be held next weekend July 22nd to 24th at the Port Renfrew Marina. The tickets are $50.00 a rod and can be purchased at Bucky's Sport Shop in Duncan, Island Outfitters in Victoria, Cowichan Fly & Tackle in Lake Cowichan, or at the Port Renfrew Marina. For those of you who cannot pre-purchase, we also will be selling them at the Cook shack/Pie Ladies’ place.
She opens at around 4:00am and will be able to help you out before you launch..
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we will be running some great raffles to help out the San Juan Hatchery, the Lake Cowichan Salmonid Society, the Victoria General and Cowichan General Hospitals’ Neo-Natal Intensive Care Wards.
By all accounts the fishing in ‘Renfrew has been fantastic and we have lots of categories and great prizes for all members of the family.
Thanks once again to Monti’s Boat Sales-Duncan and the Mortgage Centre- Duncan for donating a Yamaha 9.9 outboard with power trim and remote which will be the feature of a well stocked prize table. As well a Lowrance GPS/Chartplotter combo, Scotty High Speed downriggers, Ace-Line Hauler, a “Pink” Islander reel for the ladies, and lots more will be included. Island Outfitters will be the sponsor of the "Junior Category" for the largest fish caught by a child 15 years old and under.
Last year we broke the $100,000.00 mark in total funds raised since our inception to help ensure the survival of our salmon stocks, assist the fine charities that help those in need, and make sure that money is not an issue for families going through trying times.
We hope to break the next $100,000.00 mark a lot quicker and we invite all of you to attend.

Looks like its going to be another good year for the Davey Derby. This derby is a lot of fun, and for a great cause. Hope the support is as strong as in past years. Maybe this post will stay at the top of the Forum for more than 10 mins. (7:40 PST)

I'm coming up with 2 buddies. We'll be fishing in 'O' Fishall Business', 20 ft. SilverStreak. First time for us in this derby. Looks like the fishing and the weather should be pretty good - we're looking forward to it!
