2017 OFFISHALL Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

There are fish are....where you find them...and yes, there are still a few Chinook around....and ahem..other species.... ;)

People need to stop relying on Social Media Posts like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Guide Reports, Tackle Shop Reports and get their arse on the water and catch their own fish instead of finding what grouping of fish the guides have been hammering and then fishing the f&ck out them. Sorry to say but that's what local fishing has become.

Group think...
LOL ...... who's relying on that ? Pretty funny stuff !!!! Heard of a guy that doesn't really fish much but is always at the dock everyday bugging guides and asking where they are catching!!!!! Sound familiar????

I thought you said that local people are only supposed to fish where they see guides, and if you don't see any guides there's no point fishing there.

Everyone theses days is relying on the net working to get on the fish, including guides. It's all good, just what it is. Used to be radio now it's texting and this forum. Great thing right now is that alot of different spots seem to be holding fish at any given time, so there are many options around the strait.

I tell everybody who asks exactly what where and how I'm catching. There's so many great people out there, we can all help keep each other in the fish. When you're burning fuel or paying a guide to go out, it's in everyone's best interest to find some legal fish rather than wounding unders all day

Yup, I did say that.

However, stalking and following guides around isn't what I meant by that. Whining and complaining when the bites are few and far in between and waiting for the next report before fishing isn't the best option.

Once again we are veering off course in this thread. This thread is for fishing reports! If you want to have a discussion about chasing guides around, start a new thread. Better yet, avoid the conversation because it looks like it is just going to lead to a fight that will result in it getting punted or worse, members getting suspended.

I agree, this Vancouver forum is full of gossip not much reports.

7am-11am around pt Atkinson, bell and QA today. Lots of bait, chucked meat, metal and plastic down but not a single bite. 5 keeper crabs in 2 pots though and the weather was excellent so it was a good day on the water. I think I need to head over to Bowen since the last 2 times around van I haven't had a bite.

How was the water, lumpy? I thought it might still be a bit windy after yesterday/last night's gale warning. Not a fan of crossing over when it's 10+ knots.

Goddamn it lol, I was trying to convince my buddy to hit up passage/cowan but he wanted to fish QA. Maybe I need to be a less democratic captain.

I pulled a 17 out of qa after the change today, it seems like there are the odd Chinook scattered around still.
Nice to see the coho showing up.

What time did you head out? I had to run back at 11:00 due to working this afternoon/evening/all night.

Anyone going out tomorrow? Could use a co-pilot for my boat or I can deckhand for someone else. Last day of fishing for me this month it looks like.
