Judging from the score they have had them before the game.
I doubt anything will happen, the Nucks have been warned by the league already to not start anything

Good thing "our" other favorite team is playing at 10am so as not to f*ck with "Canada's team's" TV schedule. Loser Torontoites can't stay sober til 10pm their time on a Saturday (I kind of get it) to watch the game so Canucks fans are forced to shut down everything late afternoon. o_O

Only good thing is Strombolopolopolopolopolopolopolus is protesting in North Dakota as opposed to commenting on hockey.:D

a real icky start time.... Kadri I see was back to his BS against Edmonton the other night... just not sure who can flatten him.... perhaps our large Russian can set into him.. :)

**** have any of you actually played the game. Kadri's hit on Sedin was totally legal see it with your eyes and not your heart. Hit was hip to hip, then to the shoulder, totally legal. Now having said that blind side hits are legal the league met and discussed the issue after and nothing has been done. Blind side hits are dangerous and they should probably change the rule. It was the same with Moore on Naslund, totally legal, if Moore was a dirty player he would have left his feet and targeted the head, you don't come across center ice with your head down no matter who you are. Maybe Sedin should tighten up his chin strap. Didn't see the MacD hit so can't give a response, have at er girls :p

Ok what would happen if it was wayne g for the Oilers you just looked at him cement head was on you

Yes that is true different game different rules. Do i think that we need enforces in todays game to get the respect among players back, you bet!

i still play pretty good hky 3 times a week ? you ?
give your head a shake , hope someone knocks his f'n head off soon
hes a cheap piece of **** that will get his own soon ,

So you are saying the hit is illegal, please explain

Rule 48.1 (Illegal Check to the Head) used to read as follows: "A hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head is targeted and the principal point of contact is not permitted." Personally, I found the "targeting" issue difficult to determine at times. NHL speed didn't always make it easy, especially if there weren't enough camera angles with a proper view.

The competition committee suggested finding different wording. The league and NHL Players' Association both agreed, spending the summer finding something acceptable to everyone.

This is not considered an official rule change, which involves a lengthier process. Instead, the language was altered for greater clarity. Now Rule 48.1 declares an illegal check to the head as "a hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head was the main point of contact and such contact to the head was avoidable."

You're going to ask the obvious follow-up. How do you determine if the hit is avoidable? There are three circumstances to be considered:

First, whether the player attempted to hit squarely through the opponent's body and the head was not "picked" as a result of poor timing, poor angle of approach or unnecessary extension of the body upward or outward.

Second, whether the opponent put himself in a vulnerable position by assuming a posture that made head contact on an otherwise full body check unavoidable.

Third, whether the opponent materially changed the position of his body or head immediately prior to or simultaneously with the hit in a way that significantly contributed to the head contact
