Wood Lake fishing

Going to try fishing Wood Lake for the first time and have a couple of questions. First where is the best place to launch a Campion 542? Not a fan of gravel launches. Second, what part of the Lake should I start fishing? The north or south end? Or maybe near the middle?

Only choice to launch your boat is gravel but good. Plenty of bigger pricy lake boats launch there. Trailer parking is excellent and free.
It's best to have a partner hold the boat off the gravel while you park or lift it up on a piece of wood under the bow.
Or have a boat driver back it up from the trailer with the motor raised and sneak in to pick the trailer driver up.
Or "anchor" with your cannonballs in 2 feet.
Or paddle out or use an electric to get deep enough to lower the main ( it's not far~ 30-40 feet).
Go early before the wake boats show up and the sun gets high. 40-50 feet or below the thermocline if your sounder can see it.
Get your fish and go home don't catch and release in the warm water.

There are 2 launches in that area. You referring to Oyama launch or Public launch?

There's only one for trailers in the NE corner of the lake. It's in Oyama near the rail trail and dog park.
Google Earth is not up to date on the positive changes made.

Also, water temps are up so the fish are holding in the deeper water we’ve found. Still sitting around 30-40ft just in the deeper parts of the lake
