What's for dinner? (pics encouraged)

Ok so this is it for us tonight -

Spicy tuna belly sashimi
Tuna belly nigiri
Broiled Scallops Wrapped in Bacon
Jalepeno, red pepper, zucchini, onion and tomatoe quimoa.
Japanese white rice ( for me cause quimoa is sorta gay...)
Romaine with beets and cucumber salad.

Good thread OBH! There is one over on HBC that is the same idea. Look forward to the pic's. I'm going to try your prawn melts tomorrow night and I will post up some pic's.

You guys eat like royalty there, Mr. Jeff. Me and the big guy still giggle about him putting away 30 some odd crab rangoons. LOL [:p]
 
Here it is...

great way to get meal ideas for sure. This was some of that tuna we caught in September with some fresh scallops from Qualicum Bay.

Jim’s Beer Batter Fried Fish


1 Egg
1 12 oz. Can of Beer (Canadian)
1-1/8 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 Tsp Salt (Sea Salt)
¾ Tsp Fresh Ground Pepper
½ Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tsp Paprika
½ Tsp White Sugar

Mix all ingredients.
Wash fish in cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Roll fish in flour.
Dip in Batter.
Deep Fry at 350F until Golden. – Be careful not to let stick to wire basket in fryer.
Drain cooked fish on paper towels, lightly salt, and serve.

Tartar Sauce

1 Cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
2 Pickles – Finely Chopped
½ Medium White Onion – Finely Chopped.
1 Tsp Parsley
½ Tsp Tarragon
½ Tsp Freshly Ground Pepper
½ Tsp White Sugar
Juice of ½ Fresh Lemon

Mix ingredients and put in fridge.
Best if prepared a few hours or a day in advance.

OK this is a package of Assam Fish Paste.

Probably available @ that Asian grocery store in Nanaimo that's now closed but is moving next year to the old Rutherford Mall can't remember the name.Maybe one of the two Man Lee locations in Nanaimo as well.If you can't find it shoot me an email and I'll mail you a few packs.

I usually fry half an onion/some Garlic maybe add some Ginger and follow the direction on the package-delicious stuff this brand is exceptional.
