Victoria Waterfront

Hey all, just wondering, been out of town for a few weeks and was wondering if anyone has been catching any decent springs off the waterfront? Like, around the breakwater, Brotchie, Workpoint? Was looking at my license from last year and can see I was getting decent fish (mid 20's) in early Aug in these spots.

Walked the breakwater this morning to see if anything was happening. I saw 6 boats near Brotchie but other than that there was nothing much doing.

There was about 15 boats at Constance thin a.m.
only know of 1 or 2 smaller springs taken.
i released a wild coho, which i have not seen in these
waters for a quite a while !

Did you hear anything about that release of fish that was happening in Esquimalt harbour that brought those springs back every year? I thought I heard that program got shut down. Have you heard anything about that?

Esquimalt anglers released some hatchery fish into the area
not sure if they have kept up the program....
there have been some big springs caught late in the year (sept/oct)
the rumor is that these are the fish that they released.
a few years back a 60lb spring was caught late in the fall.

If there are Esquimalt Anglers fish returning this year I would guess that they won't be showing until Sept or Oct. I suspect that the numbers for these fish will be small.
