My handheld 0.5 watt radio doesn't seem to be cutting it. I found a new 25 watt fixed mount radio that's compatible with my other gear, but I have no clue how to choose an antenna. My boat's a fibreglass on the smaller end at 19', so I thought low gain would be a safer choice in rolling seas. Other than that, what brands should I be looking for, and is there anything else I need to consider (mounting setups, trailerability)?
