two bad news stories in the water off victoria. missing diver/found body

Can't say these are related but a young diver went missing sunday afternoon at race rocks. Tides/currents were fast yesterday especially in the afternoon/evening. Scary time/place to be in the water.

Another story that may be related. A body was found this am at clover point. Given the huge flood last night I can see the diver getting pushed there.

I spend a lot of time out there and feel badly to read about this. If the news stories are not related I feel there's another body out there to recover. Stay safe everyone.
 
Heard the Mayday on the radio yesterday and wondered why divers would be in the water around the Race during a time of near full moon fast currents and very short periods of change and back to hard flood. Risky in my mind.
 
I don't think the 2 stories are related as I heard on 16 this morning that they were still looking for the diver.

That's scary news for sure.. I can't imagine what one would go through down there knowing your in trouble..

I've scuba-dove Race Rocks in the past.........you have a very narrow window of 'slack".....maybe 25 minutes ......then the current starts wailing bigtime......
