Does anyone know if the tuna derby will be happening in Tofino or is it shut down for good?

The whole WM debacle has gone quite quiet. Just hoping they can keep the derby going. I’ve never been in the derby but sure was interesting to follow.

I can’t see it happening w Tofino Resort Marina ever but that’s pure speculation. If I was managing or on their board I’d avoid it like the plague.

Never mind the yuppity yup Tofino tournament, come to the Bamfield Shootout where it's so much more relaxed.

It's a great bunch of people that are there to have a good time and share information.

I fish out of Quatsino and really enjoyed the derby Oli put on for couple years. Maybe someday there will be another.

The competitors that fished the Tofino Tuna derby had nothing to do with the latte sipping yuppies

We took part in the Bamfield derby a couple of years. It as a fantastic time both times. Great group of guys, very helpful with information and working together

Only stopped attending as we had Oli’s derby out of Winter Harbour
