When using a spoon for the first time, take a scotch brite
pad and buff up the chrome side. this will remove any paint
overspray and give it more flash under water.
also, not one in 10 new spoons come with a sticky sharp hook.
a small whetstone works great in getting them sharp.
this has improved my catch rate greatly...
