The CONS plan on turning a bunch of fish-bearing lakes into tailings ponds

Well - short version - it hasn't gotten any better.

On June 28th 2012 - we had ~2.5 MILLION lakes and rivers protected under the Navigable Waters Act.

On June 29th 2012 - after the passage of Harper's C45 omnibus bill - we had 159.

141 of them in Conservative ridings.

Still think Harper is protecting sportsfishing interests?

That is one way to decide how to vote but you may want to consider matching your values with the party that most closely represents them. If that's something you are interested in, then there is a website that helps you do that match.

One thing that we can predict is we will get a new DFO Minister one way or another.
Gail Shea (PEI Egmont) is behind in the poles by 18 points to her Lib opponent.
That's a big gap....

Totally agree there SV except on the news tonight they seem to think that it will be decided here in BC. Now that would be interesting. Things could change with another debate coming up this week...... And in other news the clown in Australia, Tony Abbot, got the hook yesterday and they have a new guy that seems more reasonable. Changes are happening around the world and for the better.
