Accidentaly left a radio on in one of the boats last night and someone set of a DSC alert which triggered the alarm siren just before midnight. I start getting calls about two minutes later from all the folks around the bay telling me one of my boats was sinking. After careful consideration of the fact that none of my bilges is alarmed I figure the only thing that could be that loud was the radio so I kicked the wife out of bed to go turn it off.
Morale of the story - don't forget to turn off your DSC radio if you have the volume cranked, or if you do, make sure you have a wife willing to get up in the middle of the night and trapes down to the float to turn it off Damn I married a good one!!!
