Anyone ever use one of these to protect their skeg? I've got a small chip on my skeg. This looks like a good way to protect against damage on the ramp if you don't lift the leg...http://www.keelguard.com/images/skegleft.gif

get a hold of member GoGreen on here I know he has one on his boat do to a broken skeg,
looked like a great fit, and definatly covered up the damage

I have used one, make sure there is enough skeg left to fit the guard over.
will protect and pretty up what is left !

I don't have a huge problem. I displaced less than 1/4 of an inch of my skeg at the back corner. Its barely noticable. I'm thinking this may protect your skeg reducing the opportunity for an accident to ever occur in the first place if you accidently leave your skeg down while pulling the boat out of the water. (Holmes, thanks for fixing link missed you at LML event last week)....Just wondering though if it will effect performance...

No performance issues at all.

skeg guard

I knocked off most of my skeg on a log in the river, in the middle of fishing season- installed a skeg guard with only a couple of inches left good fit and no performance issues- beats having to remove the lower end to have it repaired.
