Hey guys, I know this is a debatable topic but thought if anyone knows what the market is like, it would be my SFBC cohorts. I am thinking about parting ways with my 16.5 DE. It is a 1989 that was purchased originally through SG Powers in Victoria. I‘ve owned her for 5 years and our family has out grown her. It’s been an unbelievable first boat and I’ve taken care of her.
Features:
Main engine: 2000 Yamaha 90 TLRA 2 stroke with about 370 hrs.
Kicker: 2012 Yamaha 8 HP tiller 4 stroke with maybe 100 hours
Two Scotty electric DR with swivel bases
Lowrance 7” GPS and depth sounder. I upgraded the transducer to and Airmar P66. It is flush mounted in the dash.
New Icom VHF radio (2017)
New this year deep cycle battery from Costco
Seats are in good condition
Canvass is intact but showing some wear and needs some snaps redone.
Fuel for the main engine is with two day tanks. I have on 40 litre tank and one 20 litre tank. I also have a 5 litre tank that feeds the kicker.
Ez Loader galvanized trailer
New galvanized wheels and tires
Anchor, rope and chain
Two bumpers
Two 10 lb cannon balls cannon balls with holders
Scotty quick release clips
Safety gear
Ill throw in some life jackets
Scotty bait tray
Bow lights and stern light work

Note: The wiper does not work

I’d guess about 13k? Other guys likely watching that market closer than me but sounds better than some of the junk in that age/size range. Someone wants to bargain you down remove the downriggers, swivel mounts and kicker. They still get a low hour boat and you can resell them or keep them and sell the boat for 9999…joking but not really.

Not sure if this boat has a top but similar series of engine, length https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds/boa/d/white-rock-17-foot-aluminum-fishing/7365721791.html

Might be worth getting the snaps fixed and posting a wanted add for a windshield wiper?

I imagine that boat will sell quickly its a pretty rare boat and the size is appealing. Remember big boat the price goes up so a 20+ foot boat is going to be 20k+. I think 13k kaelc mentioned is good. Perfect time as the season is just opening up. including downriggers shows youre honest and the boat speaks for itself.

The markets still pretty crazy, a few years ago I’d say it would be worth $8-10k but in this market I’d agree with above $12-15k it looks super clean and well taken care of which really helps the re sale!

12k lower and 13k at most. Your main power is really old regardless of what you say on hours. If it was 17ft you would get higher. I sold my 16 years back for about 5500 with similar old power/newer kicker, and pretty much same interior/canvas. Market is almost double right now, so the 13k makes sense.
