Robinson Retriever

I've just been given one of these and I'm wondering about line size on my traps. Looking at the retriever pulley system, it looks like I need to have something like 5/8" braided line ($$$$) for it to work properly. Is this right, or will it work with the hollow polypropylene braid I've got on my traps now?

Works well with diferent lines as it squeezes the line. I will add however tht these people have gone out of business and it is impossible to get parts, unless maybe you have a source. The big issue is the drive roller. I had a hockey puck, and suspension parts machined to make it work but they seem to wear out quick.
