I need to replace a 10 year old Moeller swing arm sending unit in an aluminum gasoline fuel tank and was wondering if a Moeller reed switch type is interchangeable (both appear to have the same 5 hole mounting flange). The reason I'm considering the reed type is that the wiring connection on top seems to be a sealed unit and would be less subject to corrosion/galvanic attack as the existing swing arm model had quite a bit of corrosion on the stem where the two stem parts make contact and some corrosion where the wire from the bridge resistor makes contact with the positive post screw head (even though these parts are inside the tank).
