Re : Sport Fishing Advisory Board Science Based Proposals for April 1/2021.
It is clear Trudeau has not read the Sport Fishing Advisory Board's data driven chinook salmon proposals. There is clearly science based opportunity for April 1st/2021 in some areas in Southern BC.
The scripted answers continue from Liberal MPs , to the Minister of Fisheries and now to the Prime Minister. Thanks to
Bob Zimmer
for continuing to fight for the West Coast. It is clear BC Coastal Communities and data driven, conservation minded public fisheries plans are low on this governments political, not science based agenda.
There is ample time and tools to implement the Sport Fishing Advisory Boards data driven chinook salmon proposals for April 1/2021. It is time to conserve stocks of concern and throw a lifeline to the BC Coast.

Is anyone actually surprised by the non-answer? Good grief Charlie Brown.
No not surprised but we need to increase awareness on the response by Trudeau and the lack of commitment to do anything for creating opportunities for the public fishery and ignoring well thought-out science and data supported openings for chinook salmon that he and his government choose to ignore. We need to demand better! Call your MP and let them know you're mad as hell! It needs to be made an issue on the front burner for the government and the only way is pressure by the public. If we sit back and let Trudeau get away with these answers then he wins!

All I noticed out of turdos response was him saying fn fishers and commercial fishers not mentioning sport fishers once again reinforcing the fact that only parties with lobbyists wining and dining the powers that be in Ottawa get heard.

Obviously a total BS answer, but it is a good sign and crucial that the issue is being elevated to the point that it is being asked to the PM in the House of Commons. The coast really needs a win this year to gain some opportunity back . There is some traction for April 1 opportunities and the more that anglers get on board to support data driven proposals the better. Some supportive politics and the Data Driven SFAB proposals may surprise people this year. Lots of work going on behind the scenes by groups like the SFI, PFA and SVIAC to press and engage with politicians and government to create opportunity for April and the year/s to come. Not a good sign if we don't get a win this year, one step closer to only being able to fish for stocked trout in lakes during the ocean chinook season. Call your MP, write emails, share social media posts that highlight the non answers that continually come from the Liberals. Get behind groups and politicians that are fighting for the public fishery. Clock is ticking and has been for a very long time.
