Picked this reel up about 8 years ago. Have only used it half a dozen times. But we got a beauty 25 lb spring on it at Entrance Island last year. i decided I would try and pretty it up.

Looks great. I want to clean one of mine up and start using it. Gotta find an old Peetz rod to go with it

I pulled it apart and soaked the brass parts in vinegar and salt solution than polished it up after that. Also cut out some carbon fibre washers and have swapped out the original drag washers. Smoothed it out a lot. It has 300 yd 80 lb Tufline plus 100’ mono top shot.

Nice job on the "pretty up" hope you have good success with it. Always nice to carry on the traditions.
I have also found that old Peetz can make a good décor item. Hope none posted are from the 1920's they are retired (for now)

The reel looks great. We have quite a collection of those. I love fishing with them. There is always one Peetz in the water when we are fishing. They are great for salmon, hali, Lings, and yes we have caught lot't of tuna on them. Tuff reels. Treat those wooden knobs like gold because once they go the only replacement item is the plastic ones that Peetz has now. It's a real shame as those old wood knobs really finish the reel.
