Planning for nexy summer

Howdy. I'm looking to do a trip to the west side next summer for a week or so. Moutcha bay seems to have everything I would be looking for. My only concern is safety. I am a fairly experienced boater and I have all the required safety gear. Is this boat suitable for over there? It is a 17 footer, standard open aluminum style. Thanks all
