options for outboard on 14ft princecraft

looking for opinon on running jet outboard on 14ft Prince craft Yukon model. Boat is rated for 25 hp max. boat has wide beam . transom height is only 15 inches . was thinking merc jet 25hp at power head . I run 15hp 2 stroke now with good performance with 2 people and gear . was thinking this would perform equal due to power loss at nozzle. can jack plate work on 15 inch transom? any constructive comments would be appreciated. thanks rich

Etec-30? Sticker puts it over you hp rating (reccomendation) but since you get less to the jet maybe get away with it. I ran Etec-30 on my 14 lund and it did well loaded, pretty light motor too.

I like the older 15hp 2stroke johnson/evenrude .Inexpencive to run, can lift off and put this motor on at camp without hurting myself or others,and fix problems with only a couple tools,space saver and weight load saver for boat and class 5 licence in transport.Keep It Simple Sir on your 15" transom.
