Haha......31' Pursuit that let you know you had a second fish on....and very worthy of the cowbell ringing in your honour, you guys WERE gettin them like crazy!! We were envious as we had everything right but just couldn't get them dialed in until late.

How do you Vancouver guys find the weather forecasting accuracy for this area? Environment Canada has a gale warning in effect today and yet Sand Heads light station is reporting calm conditions.
Tsawwassen is 6 knots and the Airport is 1 knot.

Keep getting the updated weather buoy reports and pick your window. If they're calling for a change in the wind (speed, direction) it will always happen just before or as the tide changes. Always. Every time. SE (easterlies) will always bring precipitation. NW (westerlies) will always bring clear skies.

When the wind comes from the West,

But when the wind comes from the East,
The weather is fit for man nor beast.

Thanks for that heads up! Things were going right for a change. Hope to be back out this afternoon. I'd just switched to double glow flashers when they were hitting, that was the only change. Depths were 20' to 75'. That one that hit the 20' depth did a nice aerial right of hit. Pretty cool.

Thanks for the info. Can you get emailed updated weather buoy reports or do you just keep checking?
Environment Canada still says gale warnings but 7 knots at the Sand Heads.
Big Wave Dave and WindAlert say lighter winds.

Undecided weather to hit sandheads or tack to the t10 from the north arm for tomorrow. Something tells me it wont matter

Very slow all day today around T-10 things turned on @ the mouth of the North Arm around 3 when the Orcas showed up-a few pics to follow tomorrow.

Need to look at strait of Georgia south

Fished from 7:00-4:00 north arm to t10, t10 flashers, pink hootchies, 25' -80'.... Not a sniff of sockeye. Saw a few get caught but not a lot of action around. Thought we going to be limited out by 8:00am. Nope. Got a nice little spring though so that was a positive.

Fished north arm to t10 again today 2-6pm. Had 3 hits in the first hour, landed two sox. Then the whale show started. Orcas everywhere around t10 and north. The bite ended for us when the whales showed up but still saw a few caught after that.

Sand heads is in the strait of Georgia not Juan de fuca. You're looking at the wrong forecast.

Ya....I too am fine with slow fishing as a trade off for a whale show.

Slow for us in our 3 hrs last night out of the north arm. A few sockeye hits in the first hour that we lost due to new rodsmen and then quiet the rest of the time. whales were awesome, however and it was super calm. I heard the morning was more consistent yesterday. We moved our gear around but generally our hooks (not cannonball/dummies) were in the 30-50ft range. good luck to all. Shaping up to be a wicked sockeye season!
